Eating Solids and Cows Milk!

I just love when I wake up early in the morning (4am!) and find my baby girl crying and covered in urine because she has officially outgrown size 3 diapers.  I pick her up, get her cleaned up, changed, and fed.  She goes back to sleep.  Daddy goes off to work, gives us both a kiss. About 7:30am, Alexis wakes up and gives me lots of kisses and hugs.  She was as happy as can be and very lovey.  :) It's mornings like this one that erase every naughty thing she does :) I love her so much.

We got up, took a bath, and now its time for her nap because she is still tired from her restless night.  And I'm off to the store to buy bigger diapers.

I also officially started her on days full of solids, rice cereal once a day, and cows milk.  What a transition! I know technically I'm supposed to wait until she is a year old, but my formula ran out and four days early.  We decided to make the transition on Sunday.  She has been loving the milk.  Getting her to eat solids and milk from the sippy cup has been tricky.  I guess that's why its called a transitional period.

Happy Halloween!!!

Pumpkins carved by my sister in law Tina's husband. I thought they were cool.

We had a wonderful halloween this year! We went to two parties and we took Alexis trick or treating at family's houses.  She was so cute but did not want to get into her outfit! Little stinker, lol.  She had a great time and so did we.  Success!

Mentally Drained!

Okay, at some point in your life you stop being so crazy busy, right?! I am so emotionally spent and mentally drained.  Even when I have great days at work, I still feel like there are so many things to do and so much going on that it makes me so tired by the time I get home.  Worrying about the budget, getting the house clean (and maintaining it!) and just living life while always thinking about Alexis and Kort gets so exhausting! ...............

I think I've taken on more than I can chew.  And I'm a fast eater! lol.  I really think after the holidays I am going to slow down and just take time to appreciate all the finer things in life.  Like watching Alexis draw on the carpet with my smudgeproof red lipstick! :) Oh yes, the little devil went there.  At 11 months. Amazing how much trouble such a little one can get into. :)

This is Alexis playing on the bed.  She has BAGS under her eyes! She refuses to sleep even though she is dropping over with exhaustion! Oh my little love bucket :)

Pictures of Alexis :)

Awful Teething.

Alexis' teething has gotten so much worse! OMG! (I rarely say that but in this case, it's warranted!) She is just awful at night when it's bedtime.  She occupies herself with other things during the day so it's never to bad, but at night, she won't take a bottle and cries and cries.  Tonight it was an entire hour of crying.  Nothing we did made her feel better.  Finally, I broke down and put some whiskey on her gums.  About twenty minutes later she was out and hasn't moved an inch since.  I don't know if it was the best decision for the situation but when all else failed, I decided it was the only option for our sanity.  I can't wait for this teething process to end!!

11 Months.

Aaaaahhhhh! Alexis is 11 months old :) one more month until her birthday and we are so excited! She is such a doll.  She loves her four legged friends so much too.  She is funny, she lets them nibble on her fingers and laughs so hard! She is such a feisty little angel.

A New Journey.

Since before I was pregnant I was trying to lose weight and get back in shape. I had started to lose weight and then my beautiful baby girl came along. I gained 25 pounds which put me at 193lbs when I delivered. I am currently at 155lbs and a size 12. I don't like the way I feel and I know I could look a lot better...so I decided to start a program called Take Shape For Life.

I've been mulling over this idea for several months. I've seen several people on the program and they look so good. I know it's going to be tough but it's a lifestyle change I'm willing to make.

Day one went down without a hitch. I had a headache before going to bed but it was expected. Day two has been a little more of a struggle. I have a pretty bad headache, I'm light headed, and I'm hungry. I've kept myself busy to forget about it and it's worked a little. Now I'm ready for day three then it should be smooth sailing! (except for the occassional Sunday football slip, lol.

Wish me luck!
