Last Tuesday I started the P90X workout system. I'm loving it! It's kicking my butt so much but I love the burn. My goal is to be down to 134 pounds by June 1st. I think I can do it, mainly because this workout is crazy! We workout six days a week and rest on the seventh. I'm not following the food diet because I'm awful with diets. So, we've made a list of all the foods that are acceptable and what to make with those foods. So far this week went really well. We are allowing ourselves to eat what we want on the weekends but knowing that moderation is key. As we speak I'm having a small order of french fries :) yummy. I know that doing our workout tonight I'm going to have to bring it that much more, but it's so worth it. I love food!
Wish me luck :) I know that I'll need it.
There is so much more to life than you think. Just when you start to get too complacent life kicks you in the butt and gets you going again! I love that we have a wonderful family and a beautiful home but most of all, I love that I have such an amazing journey ahead of me filled with people that I love and respect. :) My little girl Alexis and my husband mean the entire world to me and they make my life so much fuller and joyous at every moment!

One Of Those Days.
Today I went to a class about hair smoothing. I was really excited to learn more about the subject since chemical straightening is one of my not-so-secret passions. I love everything about breaking the disulfide bonds and re-creating them to form a different but permanent new hair structure. I know, dweeb alert. But I love it. The class was okay, but not at all what I thought. It made for a somewhat disappointing afternoon. It was a four hour class plus the hour it took to get there and get back. I missed a day of work and paid $25 for it. Hmmmm. I guess all education is worth it just to be well versed.
Now I'm home, and I just can't seem to get the house clean. I have been working on our room for several weeks and it just doesn't get clean enough for my satisfaction. Is it completely insane to want a clean house most of the time and not have to devote hours and hours to have a mediocre amount of cleanliness?! Ugh. I feel like I don't get the help I would like and it frustrates me. I work about 40 hours a week and I just don't have enough hands to keep this house clean. It's so petty, but I'm super frustrated by this. With all the other big things that are happening right now, this is the only thing that is forefront in my mind. Crazy? Yep. That's me.
On the upside of this blog, we went to Red Robin for my birthday dinner tonight and it was delicious! And Alexis didn't throw a fit at all while we were there. Amazing things do happen occasionally, lol.

Superbowl 2011.
Ah, the sweet success of the Packers. I was very happy not to have the Steelers win. I said in the preseason that it would be a Packers v Patriots Superbowl...well at least I got one right!
We stayed home in our pj's, relaxed and had a good time watching the game. Then we were in bed by 9pm and woke up the next day refreshed. Boy I needed that! I'm sad football is over for the season, but I guess all good things must come to a temporary end.

Alexis Sick.
Alexis has been sick for almost a week now. I'm not sure what to do to make her feel better. She vomited so much. Keeping her hydrated has been a task but she's been good. Today we're watching the Superbowl from our home. She just isn't feeling good. And I'm not really into either of the teams playing but I don't want the steelers to win so go Packers!

Great Day.
I've got the best husband that I can imagine! He's sincere, funny, sarcastic, witty, handsome, incredibly sweet and just flat out amazing. We got up early this morning and spent the whole day together. Forget every other thing we could be doing, we shopped a little bit, we went out for lunch and watched Alexis dip her crayons in ranch, lol, and we came home and spent some more time together after Alexis was down for her nap. We're about to go the store and finish purchasing some more household items, and then back home to watch the Pro Bowl, all the while playing and loving on the beautiful creation that is our daughter. Hearing her laugh at us and trying to talk. Such a wonderful life.

Las Vegas!
Okay - I'm going to Las Vegas this Sunday! Hooray!
My salon will be closed for a couple of days while we all go to Las Vegas for the Redken International Symposium. We are up for two awards: an education excellence award and business growth award. How cool is that!? We have such a great team here and we all care for each other very much :) it's a fun atmosphere. I think if we win these awards it will be great, but we honestly all feel like we already won. We do the things we do day in and day out regardless of recognition, but when recognition comes our way, we are super stoked!
I will have Monday and Tuesday devoted solely to extra learning with the top stylists in the world. I'm taking six classes and we'll be in them from 8am-5pm both days. Sunday we will be attending the Awards Ceremony and Monday night we will have an exclusive concert for all of the 10,000 stylists that will be there. Guess who our performing artist will be? .....Train! I love them!
We come home on Wednesday morning and spend the rest of the day with our families before coming back to work on Thursday. I'm really so excited to be a part of this event. Just the opportunity to learn and interact with thousands of people all around the world is fantastic!
Yippeee! (yes I actually said that!!!!)
