Touch One Life.

Today was a wonderful, inspiring day.  Yesterday we got a call at Studio D Salon from a husband wanting to do something nice for his wife.  He paid for a color, cut, manicure and pedicure and insisted that she be treated with all the eloquence of a celebrity.  He said she was having a rough week and he just wanted to do something nice for her.  She came in today and I got the privilege of pampering her.  The result was absolutely stunning hair and a wonderful relaxing morning.  She was very happy and felt super happy not only because her husband put all of this together for her but because, she said, we were incredibly nice and heartfelt.  That comment alone meant so much to me.  I forgot to get a picture of her, but believe me, she looked stunning!

The second part of my day consisted of our day of service event - Touch One Life sponsored by Studio D Salon.  It was absolutely wonderful! Each stylist worked with a lady from a different local business.  The last two years we did a fashion show for our day of service to raise funds for charities....this year we wanted to do something that would directly impact outstanding members in our community. We had StAls Nampa, Caldwell Care, NNU, Dermatology Center-Dr Powell, WITCO, and Life Counseling Center nominate somebody who they thought deserved a special day- this is what became of our dream! It was a beautiful day... We had before and after pictures done professionally but I snapped some on my phone.  :) Dutch Bros donated coffee and Bon Appetit donated the food.  We had each guest bring 2-4 coworkers with them to help them celebrate their outstanding achievements. Everyone sincerely looked amazing and the atmosphere was electric! We had complimentary eyebrow waxing and massages for everyone and just enjoying the afternoon.  Here is a picture snapped on my phone of my gal, Stacy.

Four Teeth!

Now I now why Alexis has been screaming and crying miserably at night...she popped her fourth tooth! Now she has two on the bottom and two on top.  Last night she was much better at sleeping.  Woke up once and for the sake of letting Kort get some sleep, I cuddled with her for five minutes then she was out.  She is doing the cutest things even more.  She purses her lips and makes funny faces to make you laugh.  Yesterday I was scolding her for touching Daddy's stereo equipment and she crawled over to me and deliberately gave me a big kiss on the cheek then leaned back and smiled! Amazing! Kort says she gave him kisses yesterday too out of nowhere.  It's so amazing and such a wonderful feeling.  Not to mention she now goes from standing up to bending down to get on the floor instead of just plopping down.  I'm so amazed at how smart and beautiful babies are.  We Mom's are a lucky bunch!

Nightmares?

So Alexis has been waking up just screaming and shaking and won't let me put her back down.  She hangs on to my shirt for dear life and claws until I hold her tight.  I know she's teething again, could it be the pain? Or nightmares? I give her Tylenol and then when I do get her to sleep, I put her back in her crib.  When she wakes up in the morning it's nice because she wakes up happy, but its the middle of the night that this happens.  It's breaking my heart and making me very much sleep deprived along with everyone in our house!

Curves Fitness Challenge.

This month at work we are doing a couple days of service.  We donate our time and supplies to help out a local charity, cause or event.  Saturday we were lucky enough to pamper the Curves Fitness Challenge winners.  They came in and got consultations for hair and makeup.  We did style makeovers on them and enjoyed spending the afternoon with these ladies.  They are all wonderful gals that have worked so hard to live a healthy life.  They are not interested in being a size 2, but rather want to live healthily and still enjoy life.  It was a wonderful day!

And later that day I got to do an up-do for Homecoming and my sisters hair! It was a lot of fun.

Cake Practice.

had my first try at baking a fun but a little complicated cake today for Alexis's 1st birthday party.  Needless to say it didn't turn out very well.  I underestimated the size of the barbie's legs and made the cake too small and I haven't quite mastered how to make fondant so that's a work in progress.  For now, I did a rough draft just using regular store bought cheap icing and cake mix.

Then I put some fun decorations I had around the house to make it look more festive but the decorations will be pink and purple for Alexis's party and not like the ones that are on the cake now.  Regardless, it was so much fun making the cake and Alexis had a ball.  She played with the bowls and boxes and didn't care too much for the bowl on her head, lol.  She was too cute so I took tons of pictures and video.  Ah, sweet memories.

10 Months Old.

Alexis turned 10 months old on Saturday! We spent the holiday weekend in St. Anthony with my parents. It was so much fun.  We spent quite a pretty penny but it was entirely worth it. They loved seeing her and we loved spending time with them.

While we were down there we got to watch some home movies from our childhood.  They were so funny! Man I was a little devil as a young one.  Even in the videos I'm wreaking havoc, lol.  We also went to the Eastern Idaho Fair.  It was very over priced and they didn't have any scones! They had scone nuggets which didn't look appetizing at all.  Their tiger ears looked oh so NOT yummy, too.  So we ended up going to Fort Hall Casino's restaurant and eating a delicious meal there....and they had scones! It ended up being a wonderful night.  Then we had a small party for my little sister and my dad's birthdays.

We drove back on Sunday night and then watched BSU vs Virginia Tech on Monday night.  It was a great exciting game.  And we won! Alexis was awesome too, and so cute.  Everytime we would yell or get excited she would too.  By the end of the game she would throw her hands up in the air with us! She mimicked everything, lol.  It was an amazing weekend!

Planning.

I am so excited! This Fall/Winter seasons are going to be amazing :) I am planning my angel's first birthday party which is going to be a blast, then a fun Halloween party, and my sisters baby shower in November. I have all these ideas floating around in my head and now I just need to start working on it.  It is going to cost me quite a bit for Alexis's first birthday party but I think it will be so worth it! It's more of a milestone for me than for her, so I'm going to enjoy it.

I tried on her outfits for Halloween and her party and neither one fits! Her little Pumpkin Fairy outfit is wayyyyyyy too small.  Her Snow White outfit almost fits its just a little snug, so I'm thinking in two months it won't fit anymore.  We shall see, I suppose.  And I know for sure she won't wear the pretty little wig I bought her, lol.  She threw it off and then looked at it with disgust.  It was pretty funny.  In any case I can always buy her something else :) more shopping for me!
