In Memory.

I'm thinking about you. I miss you. You were a great friend and an unbelievably caring person. Heaven is lucky to have you.

Practicing On All Fours.

I think the first picture is the cutest.  She's looking right at the camera!
She is so adorable!
She has the chubbiest cheeks in this picture, lol.

Alexis is able to momentarily get up on all fours!  I can't believe she's getting ready to transition from just laying there to crawling.  She can already sit up on her own.  :)  She is super temperamental!  She actually screamed for the first time on Wednesday and again yesterday.  I mean a real scream like when someone jumps out of nowhere and scares you.  It was the funniest thing.  She screamed and then started crying but I just couldn't stop laughing about it.  I was sitting at school later that day and I was still laughing about it.  I wish I had video recorded it :) lol.  She is officially out of all of her 3-6 month clothing.  I am putting 6 months on her.  I guess thats okay because she'll be four months on the 4th of March.  I can't wait for her 4 month checkup to see how big she's getting.  We love our family doctor.

Birthday Weekend.

My birthday weekend has been amazing! Yesterday we had a big BBQ for Lionel, Irving and me. It was so much fun. We had family and friends there and we exchanged gifts. Senia and Lionel got me lots of jewelry! It was probably the best present I could have gotten because I love jewelry :) and my parents got me three shirts. We had yummy cake and delicious steak tacos. We then went bowling and that was such a blast too. We made the birthday party theme "saying goodbye to our young years" and we made my brother in law wear a Superman cape but with his initials on it.  We made him wear it at the bowling alley and everyone was staring.  It was hilarious!  I saw my friend Tasche's twin boys for the first time since they were born. They are the most adorable boys! It really made me miss my friend. I've already been missing her so it was nice to see them. I could see her in them. We had two bowling teams and it was the first time my mom had ever been bowling and she kicked our butts. She kept throwing the ball, lol. Strike, spare. Only two gutter balls. Lionel got the highest score then my Dad in second. My sister Senia got third, Ramon got fourth and my Mom got fifth place. The seven of us placed under 100 points :) we didn't do so great! I think the best part was that my parents got to spend time with Alexis and they were on cloud nine! She absolutely loved my Mom.

Today we're on our way to Jackpot to finish off the weekend. I hope we win enough to eat and have another wonderful day. Yay!

...Right before we left we took a picture of my Dad in my brother's Border Patrol hat, lol.  We thought it was funny.  Everyone ended up winning except for me and my Mom.  I lost $10.  But we had a great time!

Happy Birthday To Me!

Today was my birthday and it was so wonderful!  Kort stayed home from work and spent the whole day with Alexis and I.  We babysat our nephew Camren for a little while and it was fun.  We made pulled BBQ pork for lunch, played the Wii and worked out to our Biggest Loser game for the Wii.  It kicked our trash!  My princess was so good and has been for the past two days.  I guess she decided to stop throwing tantrums for a while, or at least as a gift for Mommy on her birthday =).

Tonight we went out to dinner with my Mother-in-Law (she takes us out for bday dinner every year) at Olive Garden since that's my favorite.  There's something so great about the atmosphere and the Sinatra playing in the background.  I ordered the Shrimp Primavera and it was delicious...in fact I just had the leftovers and they were still scrumptious.  I got to go shopping for anything I wanted and what did I get?...a new comforter set for our bedroom, three outfits for Alexis (two dresses and they're precious!), a belt for Kort and a shirt for me.  Funny how all of a sudden my priorities have shifted from myself to my family =).  I wouldn't have it any other way!

Vocalizing Frustrations?...Not A Problem For Alexis!

I really did think that the tantrums wouldn't start until much later in babyhood.  Nope, not the case at all.  My princess has taken the title to heart and is not having a problem vocalizing her frustrations.  For the past week she has been throwing tantrum after tantrum.  She was sooo good for the first three months and now she's only good occassionally.  What is up with that?  I know she is cutting teeth and that's frustrating but now I'm starting to think that her teething is only partly the issue.  She'll be fussy for hours on end.  Seriously, hours!  Today it took me holding her and shshsh'ing her for one and a half hours before she stopped screaming and finally fell asleep.  Mommy needs sleep................off to school.

Love, Love, Love!

Yesterday I watched "Dear John" with my sister and it was pretty good. It was sad and of course the leading man was gorgeous. Haha. I was expecting the story line to be a little bit better but I guess I shouldn't compare all love movies to The Notebook.

Today we went to see Percy Jackson and the Olympians - The Lightning Thief at Edwards theatre. It was a good movie. Kind of on the same page as Narnia. We left Alexis with her Aunt Senia and had lunch at Red Robin. I called to see how she was doing and my sister said she threw a tantrum of gigantic proportions, messed herself all up to her shoulders and was so naughty! My little princess is teething so bad that she's been so fussy. I feel awful for her. We're going to have Valentine's Day dinner at our house so I won't have to leave her again tonight. She needs mommy and daddy time :) after all today is all about love!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Satur"Fun"Day.

Today has been a wonderful day.  I'm feeling a lot better than I have been all week.  I'm not sick anymore and I hope that I don't get sick again.  I went out to see "Dear John" with my sister Yesenia today.  It was a good movie.  Different than what I thought but still made me cry.  Nicholas Spark does it again!  Then Kort, Alexis and I went to Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner/lunch.  It was delicious and I've got to say, the Asian Hot sauce was sooooo good.  Alexis slept almost the entire time we were there.  She woke up at the very end of our meal and was all smiles.  It was adorable.  She's sitting on my lap being super cute.

....I saw this creative craft idea on Martha's blog and thought I'd give it a try.  I'll see how it goes since I'm having a little Valentine's Day get together at my house.  I want to spruce the place up and make it look festive.

Superbowl.

I've got to say, this years Superbowl was very interesting and entertaining.  I was going for the Colts, but I'm really not disappointed that the Saints won.  They worked really hard and have an outstanding team.  Congrats to all their fans...first Superbowl appearance and win!

We had tons of family over and it was a great afternoon.  A lot of food too.  I made meatballs and they were so yummy :) Since the Colts lost I thought I would change the logo on the cake, lol.  Go Patriots!

3 Months Old.

My Baby Doll is 3 months old :) She's so beautiful and smart and as it turns out, I think she's a little shy, lol.  We play with her and read her books and when other people come over and they talk to her, she does this little shy giggle and puts her face in her hands.  Its the cutest thing.  So many new things are happening every day!

The Love Of A Baby.

This week has been a bit of a frustrating week.  I've had to leave school early Monday and Tuesday and I wasn't able to go at all yesterday.  Unfortunately, since I got on birth control, my body has been reacting badly.  My milk production has been decreasing but I thought it was because I wasn't eating my extra 500 calories or I wasn't drinking enough water.  It wasn't decreasing enough to worry me until early this week.  Alexis would get up screaming and would only calm down if I held her and rocked her and then I would feed her and she would act like she was starving.  I thought it couldn't be possible because I had been feeding her every two hours.  It turns out she really was hungry.  She would eat but there wasn't enough milk for her so she would wake up starving.  Yesterday it got to the point where I was trying to feed her every 45 minutes to an hour just to keep her satisfied.  I called my doctor and she said it was definitely the mini pill and I could either get off of it or stay on but take another pill called Regulin three times a day for two weeks.  Kort and I discussed it and we decided that I'd get off the pill completely and rely on a different form of birth control.  I don't think I've ever felt so helpless as yesterday.  Watching my baby cry from hunger was the most awful thing I could imagine.  I finally broke down and bought some formula and tried to give it to her.  She wouldn't take it.  She kept spitting it out and making a sour face and screaming.  She got so hungry she drank about 1/2oz of the formula.  I used my breast pump all throughout the day and managed to get 2oz out.  Throughout this whole time, I was extremely sad and frustrated and crying.  Alexis reached up and touched my face, my cheeks, my mouth, my nose, and would smile at me and talk to me.  It was as if she was comforting me.  Kort got home and held her and all she wanted to do was touch me, smile and talk to me.  She knew I was having an off day and she was there for Mommy.  It touched my heart in the deepest way.  Kort says that she was just doing what I do for her when she's upset or having an off day.  She was loving on Mommy like Mommy loves on her.

Ah, The Pleasures of Motherhood.

This morning my Alexis woke up in the best mood ever.  She was so happy and playful.  I read her two of her books and then put her in her swing while I put together our new steam cleaner.  She did get a little fussy so I held her in my arms as I vacuumed the carpet and got everything ready to steam clean the hallway, her bedroom and my bedroom.  I'll tell you, its amazing that I was able to get the hallway and her bedroom cleaned and half of my room.  I thought my arm was going to fall off from holding her so long and lugging around a steam cleaner!  What does that tell you??  Mommy needs to get in shape something fierce :) and that my princess is getting heavier and heavier by the day.  She now weighs a whopping 14 pounds.  Geesh!

Picture Day!

Saturday we took Alexis to get her pictures taken and she looked so adorable!  The only problem was that they were running behind so my good mood little girl quickly became upset, and only allowed six pictures to be taken.  We got three smiling pictures because Daddy was doing his best to make her laugh.  That lasted all of three seconds then it was waterworks all over.

Wait a second....what is this....
Ahhh!  I can't see :(
.... grrrr....
When we got home, I took her out of her fluffy princess dress and put her in a cute little poodle dress. She loved it.  I put this big bow on her head that looked so overwhelming and funny :) She was in such a good mood until the bow came down and covered her eyes.  That was the last straw for her and then it was bedtime.

I Hate Cleaning Up Dog Doodoo.

So Buddy won't go outside unless we force him because it's cold.  He had to go to the bathroom and I kept taking him outside and he just wouldn't go.  Finally I let him out and he got his leash off and went pee.  Right after that he came right back inside, so I didn't worry about hunting him down.  I put Alexis to sleep and went to the bathroom to get ready for school and I come out to find a trail from the back sliding door, through the kitchen, to the living room, past the hallway and into my bedroom right at the bathroom door - full of poop.  AAAAHHHH!  I hate having to clean up doggy doodoo.  I hate it.  I hate it.  I hate it.

(We don't have a fence yet, because we have to wait for the weather to warm up before we can put it in, ugh.)
