Hair Cut.

I finally cut my hair!  I have been contemplating this for weeks but hadn't quite decided.  Tonight we were not busy at all and I was talking to my instructor about it.  She said she'd do it for me so I did it! Yay!!! I love it.  There was more hair on the floor than on my head, haha.  It feels great and I've been wanting to do something different for so long.  This is different for sure :) and I feel a little bit braver so that's just icing on the cake.

Wonderful Weekend.

This weekend has been so much fun.  We had a great day on Friday hanging out with Kort's bandmates :) they were a blast.  We played some beer pong and guitar hero but mostly just hung out and had a great time.  On Saturday Alexis and I went to see Daddy jamming out on the guitar in Boise with his band and then we went to Omar's house for a birthday BBQ for him.  The food was excellent, kudos to Christina!

Today we're just lounging around the house getting some much needed projects done.  Cleaning up the pantry, washing out the refrigerator, organizing the computer room and garage, and getting some photos sent off to the printers so I can finally start the scrapbook I've been procrastinating on forever!  And you know, I love the rain!  I know people would say today is gloomy, but I love it.  It's so beautiful and its kind of chilly but with a nice sweater and gloves = perfect!

Alexis and Buddy.

I was taking some random pictures of Alexis and Buddy got in the picture.  It was so cute!  He goes up to her and she starts laughing hysterically.  She loves her Buddy.  I just couldn't help but snap a few pictures.

Haircut..What Do You Think?

So we had some amazing guest speakers come to our school on Tuesday - Melissa Jaqua and Abe Barron. They were so fantastic and very inspiring!  They had amazing stories and experiences to share with us along with haircuts and styles.  They stayed the entire night and took pictures with us.  I really love having guest speakers come to our school because they are always inspiring and so good to keep us really motivated doing what we love.  Melissa Jaqua has done hair for fashion shows, photoshoots, television, salon work, you name it, she's done it!  Last week on American Idol she did Katy's hair and also does hair for 'So You Think You Can Dance,' 'America's Next Top Model,' the 'Academy Awards,' etc... Abe was very honest and down to earth with a very cool Mexican flare.  :) . He was so fun to watch and to talk to.  I learn a lot from having guest speakers and they were no exception.

So with all their inspirational talks and great advice, I am thinking that I need to do something different with my hair.  I always have the same style or something very similar to what I have now.  The color changed occasionally but I want to get out of my shell and try something different.  So I am toying with the idea of getting a sleek A-Line cut with a lot of layers and side swooped fringe (bangs).  What do you think???  Here's a picture of something close to what I'm thinking with a few tweaks here and there.

Yay For Spring!

My goodness!  Time is just flying by so quickly.  It is so wonderful to have all that time spent with Alexis but it feels so fast.  I love spending all my time with her :) she's the light of my world!  I love her face in these two pictures.  She looks very upset in the one with me and very curious in the one with Daddy :)

I will be graduating school in less than 2 months!  I'm super stoked.  It's definitely going to be a great feeling when I no longer have to go to school.  Although I plan on keeping up with new techniques and still visiting the school when guest speakers come, I'll be happy not to have to keep up with all the paperwork, lol.   I love working on clients so I can't wait to be able to express my creativity with a wider range of people.

I love watching Rachael Ray for cooking ideas and today's show was excellent.  She made a BLT pasta dish that looked absolutely scrumptious.  I'm going to make it for lunch tomorrow and see how it turns out. If its yummy, then I'm going to make it for guests for dinner.  I love cooking now.  I just need to find more time to do that!

We are getting our fence put in sometime in the month of April.  We are prepping all the wood and we will be putting it in ourselves with the help of my Kort's dad and brother and a licensed fence installer.  Thank goodness for that because undoubtedly we would get something wrong, haha.  My weeds need pulled something major, so I plan on getting Alexis bundled up and going outside tomorrow to pull the weeds.  I'm excited to be able to plant flowers!!  Yay for Spring!

Trip to St. Anthony.

Me and Alexis

Me and Kort lounging on my parents couch after watching New Moon!
My Mom playing with Alexis.  She was singing her the funniest songs in Spanish.
My Dad playing with Alexis.  She was having a ball!
Monita goofing around with my cousins Oscar and Josh.

This weekend we went to St. Anthony to visit my parents and to pick up our fence materials.  We are going to put our fence in by ourselves so my uncle got us a great deal on fence panels.  The gas that it cost to bring them back is another story, lol.  My parents had a great time with Alexis and my Mom was thrilled to have her around.  She didn't cry with either one of them which was amazing.  She was so good.  It was freezing there though.  There was still snow piles on the sides of the road and nighttime was so cold.  We bundled up and made sure Alexis was warm.  Saturday afternoon we went to get some carnitas and fresh tortillas and met my Dad and Irving out at the ranch for lunch.  It was so delicious!  It was a fantastic weekend :)

Movie Weekend.

This weekend was so much fun.  Sarah and her family came down from Washington for a couple days and it was wonderful seeing her and the kids and Tyler.  I was supposed to cut Alyssia's hair but in the course of eating dinner and watching a movie I completely forgot!  I felt so bad :( but they are coming back next month and I'll make it a priority to do it then.  We watched Couples Retreat which I thought was funny.  The island they're on is amazing!  It made Kort and I want to go on vacation somewhere beautiful and tropical.  We also saw Shutter Island.  It was pretty freaky but a good movie.  I'm glad we saw it.  We watched Up in the Air and Zombieland.  Surprisingly I liked Zombieland.  Woody Harrelson was hilariuos in it!  But back in to reality (lol) we're getting ready to put our fence in.  It's going to be hard work but it will be so nice to have it in.  This summer we're going to work on putting our landscaping in.  I really want a small garden and some really cool small trees for the front yard.  It is definitely a fun project I can't wait to do.

Alexis's room needs a book shelve so I decided to look online and figure out how to custom make it.  I'm working on painting it now so when I have it all ready, I'll post pictures.  I'm so excited about it.  I love doing little things like that even if I'm not very good at it.

For my birthday this year Kort got me the Biggest Loser game for Wii and I've been doing it for almost four weeks now.  My goal is to lose five pounds a month until I get to my goal weight.  I started actively trying to get in shape on Jan 19th and so far I've lost 11 pounds!  I have a long way to go until 'i'm where I want to be but at five pounds a month it seems achievable.

March Madness...Literally!

This month has been so hectic but in a good way.  Kort, Alexis and I have spent great weekends together, and done so many fun things.  Alexis is now sitting up and getting ready to crawl.  She goes in circles on her side, its pretty funny.  We have started giving her some rice cereal and she was so excited to be getting something different.  She had a mess all over her face and hands.  I let her play with the texture of the food through her fingers and she would of course put it in her mouth.  Once she got the taste I proceeded to feed her and she loved it!   I mix it with breast milk so that reassures me she's still getting mommy's yummies :) as I call it.

Kort started a new band back in January.  He started getting all of the members lined up and just kind of hanging out and seeing if they would all fit together.  It has been so wonderful to see him back in a band again!  He's so talented and social, and not being able to express himself musically is so draining on him.  They're working on a band name and coming up with some great music.  I am going to go to their jam tomorrow and hang out with the group.  I'm pretty excited.  I love watching him play his guitar and giving him feedback.  It's funny though, when I give him feedback, I have no idea what I'm talking about!  I just know if I like it and what sounds off or spot on to me.  I think he appreciates it :) he has a song with a bunch of arpeggios in it and I call it the "rainbow" song.  He gets a kick out of it, lol.

Overall, March has started out wonderfully for us and I just haven't written a blog in a while so I wanted to do a quick update.  On a really bright note, this Saturday my best gal pal is coming to town!!!  Yep, we're going to have a great time.  Sarah, I can't wait for you and the kids to get here so I can give you guys lots of hugs!!!!!!!  xoxo.

4 Months Old.

Alexis got her shots on Monday and had her 4 month check up! She's 4 months old already and babbling and sitting up! Where is the time going?

I love being a Mom. My princess is so wonderful. Yesterday I stayed home from school to be with her. She was being so funny and happy but was tender from her shots, I just wanted to be with her. It was a great night.

I had a bit of a rough night tonight but I'm home now so everything is better.
